Did you know Superman eats this? 🦸‍♂️

Hi Reader!

As a mom of 3 boys, you can only imagine how many superhero toys, movies and memorabilia we had around the house.

I'll admit that I had a bit of a crush on Henry Cavill (who played Superman) and Chris Hemsworth (aka Thor) -- but that'll be our secret. 🤫

Well...you can also imagine how thrilled I was when Insider asked me to comment on these guys' diets! Although it took a lot more than just smoothies to get them to look the way they do -- check out my interviews below to get a sneak peak of what they like to eat.

Here's to healthy decisions,

Bon

Tom Brady starts every day with a high-protein breakfast smoothie to build muscle and stave off cravings until his next meal - here's the recipe

Although Brady's smoothie is far from being low in calories (that boy needs his energy), the almond milk and almond butter used brings healthy fats into the mix, as well as calcium, and vitamins A, D, and E, I told Insider.

The almond butter also helps you stay fuller for longer, thanks to the fiber and protein. For most people, the almond butter and seeds will provide enough protein, so you can skip the protein powder that he also added.

Check out what we blended up about Brady's smoothie in Yahoo News!

"Clean Eating" and "Clean Labels"...What's the Real Deal?

“To me, clean eating means that my kids cleared the table and did the dishes. To others, however, this term has a completely different definition.” That's what I told my friend and colleague, Dr. Keith Ayoob, when he asked me to talk to him about the term, "clean eating".

We hear so much about it -- but most people don't even know how to define it.

I'm thrilled that Ayoob loves my book, Read It Before You Eat It - Taking You from Label to Table, and I think you'll learn a lot about what's appearing on your food labels by clicking the link below.

You can read more about that here.

Henry Cavill says he has protein smoothies for breakfast and pre-workout supplements to bulk up for roles

Although lots of people add protein powder to their smoothies, powders can help people meet certain calorie needs and ensure that they are getting protein but it isn't some magic potion that leads to bigger muscles.

I told Insider that simply using protein powder or pre-workout supplements will be pointless if you're not working out as much as someone like Henry Cavill (aka Superman).

"When it comes to supplements for muscle growth — no matter what, it's important to build on a foundation food and fitness," I said.
