Morning Workout Routine: 9 Steps to Better Fitness

You'll find lots of tips in this story about how kick off your day -- but my guess is that a cup of coffee is a trusty companion.

While a morning coffee can give you that extra jolt of energy, it’s best to consume it mindfully. A moderate amount—around 8-12 ounces—can enhance your performance and endurance. However, you need to be cautious about overdoing it. Too much caffeine may cause dehydration, jitters, or an upset stomach, especially if you haven’t eaten. Pairing your coffee with a small snack can help buffer these effects, giving you a steadier energy boost for your workout.

For more tips on how to make the most of your morning, here are my thoughts as seen in SHAPE.

8 Best High Protein Cereals,

According to Nutritionists

Since protein is the nutrient that seems to wear a halo, it's no surprise that it's showing up in just about every food category including breakfast cereals.

If you’ve been unsure about the healthfulness of cereal, reconsider: Cereal is a quick, easy, affordable, and accessible way to take in a variety of nutrients, especially when you combine it with other foods. It also has a long shelf life so you can stock up on a few boxes. Just be sure to check food labels to see that your cereal helps meet your health needs by checking the sugar, fat and fiber contents as well.

10 Surprising Mistakes That Are Sabotaging

Your Fat Loss Goals

We all know that losing weight if far from easy, but there are things you can do to help that process along without suffering or feeling overly restricted.

This story helps to highlight some of the things we do to make that journey even more difficult including not prepping food ahead of time, severely restricting calories and focusing only on the scale, just to name a few.

I highlighted how important it is not cut out entire food groups. “Foods that may need to be limited when one is trying to drop a few pounds is not the same as complete avoidance,” I mentioned. “Instead of cutting out foods you enjoy, try watching your portion sizes or save richer foods for special occasions. You shouldn’t punish yourself by cutting out foods you enjoy just because you’d like to lose weight …enjoying delicious food is one of the pleasures in life.”

Confidence Chronicles Part 2:

Let's Slay Ten Confidence Killers Before They Do Damage

What’s stopping you from showing up and shining? 🤷🏻‍♀️
You’ve got the expertise, the passion, and the potential, but something is holding you back. I get it—confidence killers are REAL. From fear of rejection to second-guessing yourself, those sneaky little thoughts can pop up when you least expect them!

🎙️ The first episode of Confidence Chronicles on the Media Savvy Podcast was so successful that I had to do a Part 2. Here I’m breaking down 10 confidence killers that can derail your growth, whether you’re preparing for a big media interview or just trying to share your story. Trust me, I’ve been there. But guess what? You don’t have to stay stuck.

Here’s what you’ll learn when you listen:

🛑 How to stop seeking approval from others and start embracing your abilities.

🤔 Why second-guessing is keeping you stagnant—and how to break free.

🎉 The fear of success (yes, that’s a thing!) and how it holds you back just as much as fear of failure.

🤩 How perfectionism is a confidence trap—and why progress is what matters most.

📱 Why comparison culture on social media is eroding your confidence and what you can do about it.

🙇🏻‍♀️ How the people who care about you and your colleagues could be holding you back without realizing it.

Listen, confidence isn’t something you wait for—it’s something you build. You have control over how far you go and how hard you push. Don’t let fear, doubt, or the opinions of others hold you back from the success you deserve.
